PHIGHTING! Roles Explained — Melee, Ranged & Support
Compare PHIGHTING! melee, ranged, and support responsibilities, positioning goals, strengths, and common mistakes.
What are the PHIGHTING! roles?
The playable roster is divided into Melee, Ranged, and Support. These labels describe a character’s broad team function, but they do not replace learning the individual kit, effective distance, or the objective demands of a specific match.
What does a melee player contribute?
Melee characters create or contest close space. Good melee play depends on entry timing, cover, team follow-up, and knowing when to leave rather than treating every nearby opponent as a mandatory duel.
What does a ranged player contribute?
Ranged characters influence sightlines, soften targets, and punish exposure. Their positioning should create useful pressure without becoming a static angle that opponents can flank or collapse on.
What does a support player contribute?
Supports can sustain, protect, or enable teammates while still participating in pressure. Strong support play requires broad awareness and the judgment to stop investing resources in a fight the team can no longer recover.
How should a team use role balance?
Role count is only the first check. A team also needs reachable damage, survivability, movement, and tools that interact with the objective. Use the character roster, beginner guide, and character choice guide together rather than following a rigid formula.
